NASOPHRYNX

Continuation of nasal cavity to oral cavity behind the nose. There is opening of eustacheun tube In the lateral wall on either side. Posterior wall of nasopharynx is studed with lymphoid tissue in childhood called ADENOID. They may regressed after five yrs of age along with tonsils.

Pathology : Tumors or polyps may occupy n obliterate this space. Nasopharyngeal tumors like angiofibroma may be seen the oral cavity as extention from nose.

ADENOID ENLARGEMENT may cause snoring in child, difficulty to breath, high arched palate, recurrent ear infection.
